|Since 3.14.0-ENTERPRISE.|
BPMN Modeler Enterprise integrates the capabilities of our Confluence Server App Managed Data Fields. Having both Apps installed, you may define structured data fields via the MDF App, attach them to process elements within the BPMN Modeler Enterprise, and centrally evaluate their values in Field Queries within MDF.
This manual mainly refers to on how existing data fields can be attached to process elements within the BPMN Modeler Enterprise. To learn how they are centrally defined and evaluated, please have a look into the Managed Data Fields User Manual.
Data fields can be attached to process elements via the Attribute Panel. Given you have some data fields defined in the Managed Data Fields app and these are set to be usable within BPMN Modeler Enterprise, the dropdown list allows to select one of them. Select the desired values and click “create” to attach the data field to the currently selected process element. Note that it is also possible to select the process as a whole, simply by clicking into the model’s whitespace.
A click on “create” attaches your data field to the selected process element. Of course, it is possible to attach multiple fields on the same element.
The bottom area presents all currently attached data fields in a read only presentation to prevent unintended changes. To change their values purposefully, simply click on the pen icon, or delete the data field by clicking the trash icon.
In the process model, Managed Data Fields are visualized with a purple icon on the respective process element. A click on the icon leads you directly to the Attribute Panel, as seen above.
