FAQ Data Residency in Confluence Cloud

We take security and privacy seriously. On this page we aim to answer the most frequently asked questions concerning data residency of the BPMN and DMN Modeler app. If you still have questions or any other concern, do not hesitate to get in touch via our Support Desk.

Which data is stored by the app?

We do not store any personal data. Nor do we store any business data from you permanently. All data lies within Confluence Cloud. Hence, the selected data residency policy applies. Technical data (such as identifiers) that are needed to validate a licensed installation and to perform a secure communication with Confluence are transmitted and stored encrypted. For certain services provided by our app (e.g., PDF Rendering), diagrams are sent to our servers securely for processing and are deleted afterwards completely.

Where is this data stored?

The data we store is saved in a database that is hosted in Frankfurt, Germany (EU). We only store technical data needed for secure server communication. This data is securely encrypted.

Where are our servers located?

We are operating servers in Germany, USA, and China (Hong Kong). Requests are always routed to the nearest cluster, meaning that customers from the EU will always communicate with our servers in Germany (Frankfurt).

Does the app store personal data?

The BPMN Modeler and DMN Modeler for Confluence Cloud do not store any personal information.

Where are my process models and decision tables stored?

All models are saved solely as Confluence page attachments. They are not saved on any servers hosted by viadee.
