How to add a BPMN Diagram macro depends on the hosting option your Confluence runs in.
Server
If you are running on a Confluence Server instance you can add a BPMN diagram by
Click on Insert more content → BPMN Diagram
Or type {bpmn to open the macro shortcut menu
The diagram appears directly where you inserted it on the page.
Cloud
If you are running on a Confluence Cloud instance you can add a BPMN diagram by
Click on Insert → View more ...
Search for "BPMN" and find the BPMN Modeler Enterprise
Or type /bpmn to open the macro shortcut menu
The diagram appears directly where you inserted it on the page.
Create or import a BPMN diagram SERVER | DATA CENTER Cloud

You can create a BPMN diagram in various ways - either create a blank BPMN diagram from scratch, or import an existing one from an internal or external source. The following options are available:
Create a blank BPMN diagram
Make a copy of an existing BPMN diagram (including its versions), cf Import from Confluence Attachment
Upload a BPMN diagram file in XML (.bpmn)
Import a BPMN diagram from a Version Control System (VCS), cf Import from VCS
Please be aware that some options are only available if the Confluence page is once published, and not in draft.
Basic Editing Functionality SERVER | DATA CENTER Cloud
To edit an existing diagram, you can either edit the macro in Edit page mode or use the Edit diagram - button in page view. On the left side you have a palette including the BPMN 2.0 elements - simply drag and drop them on the canvas. Element types can be changed via the wrench symbol at each drawn element individually.
For a perfect modeling flow, you may append the next element directly from the last added element by clicking on the suggested options to continue. This will also automatically insert connecting flow elements.
There are tools to optimize your modeling experience.
These two can be found in the left pallet:
Space Tool: add or remove space between elements
Lasso Tool: capture and selection of elements at once
Additional functionalities are accessible via the navigation bar:
Undo and redo your last changes (via Edit)
Reset the diagram (via File)
Help Wizard SERVER | DATA CENTER Cloud
To help you with the orientation while using the app, we offer a Guided Tour that can be started via the help buttons that can be found in the toolbar and at the attribute panel. Alternatively you can got to Help → Go on guided tour. In this tour you are guided step by step through the different features of the app and get an explanation for every button and functionality.
Also under the Help menu, you have a selection of tutorial videos that will redirect to our YouTube - playlist and provide explanation, tips and tricks for the features of the app.
Navigation Bar and Toolbar SERVER | DATA CENTER Cloud
The Navigation Bar is grouped into dropdown fields that make all features of the BPMN Modeler Enterprise accessible. The ones that are frequently used during modeling are additionally placed into the toolbar below. Tooltips help identify the buttons. To see a list of available keyboard shortcut go to Edit → Shortcuts.
Comments on Process Elements SERVER | DATA CENTER Cloud
For better collaboration, you can leave comments to single process elements to start a discussion with your team members. Each process element has an expandable box containing all comments including timestamp and author. To send your team members a notification you can tag them with a mention. As in Confluence, start by typing '@' and search for your team mate's name.
It is also possible to mark a comment as resolve and even delete all resolved comments attached to one element.
Just as any other overlayed icon, the comments indicator can be configured in the diagram settings or temporarily hidden via the toolbar. Alternatively, go to View in the navigation bar to set temporary display settings.
